18 and Beyond: A Roadmap for Parents of Adult Children with Disabilities
Virtual Workshop via Zoom
Tuesday, April 22, 2025
6 – 8pm
When your child turns 18 years old, they legally become an adult. This is an important time to consider their future – especially if they need additional care into adulthood. Learn more about:
– Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) eligibility and services such as Personal Care (PC), Medicaid Waivers, respite care, etc.
– Social Security Benefits (e.g. SSI, SSDI)
– Special Education including Transition Plans
– Employment including School to Work
A panel of reps from the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), and The Arc will provide an overview of the adult service system and important steps to help keep you on track for a successful transition. After a presentation, we will open up the workshop to Q&A. Get your questions answered.
