This training is designed for parents who want to learn more about how to effectively advocate within the school system for their child or to assist another family. We will cover: how to be an advocate, how schools work, IEP & IDEA basics, communication, and resolving conflict. School District Special Education staff will be invited for part of the training to give their perspective on effective strategies. You will also be able to create an “All About Me” book for your child’s teacher. You do not need to have previously attended a helping parent training in order to attend this workshop.

Please RSVP by October 18th: (360) 715-0170, ext. 303, monicab@arcwhatcom.org. Limited supervised care for family members is available on a first-come, first-served basis with RSVP by October 18th.
