Buddy Fest is a 3/4 mile walk combined with plenty of fun activities for everyone and pre-order lunch options from Our Kitchen too! We are expecting 300 family and community members to celebrate the day with us.

Buddy Fest brings together people with Down syndrome and everyone from friends and family to members of our community — to promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome and to raise funds for education, research and advocacy programs.

  • 12 noon Arrival & Registration
  • 12:30pm Event Kick-off! Hear local speakers, make posters and take photos with your team!
  • 1:00pm Buddy Walk • 0.62 miles walk for awareness through Downtown Bellingham!
  • 1:30-3:00pm Lunch, Games, Activities & Music!
  • 3:00pm Buddy Walk Ends

Ways you can support Buddy Fest!

1. Sign Up

All participants are required to accept the terms and conditions of the waiver before completing the registration form. You will create your personal page and/or team page URL after your registration is complete.

2. Create Your Online Fundraising Page

After you register, customize your personal fundraising page by editing text, uploading pictures and changing the colors of your page.  You can make changes to your web page as many times as you’d like.

*Please note* EVERY individual who registers will have a personal page – if you make or join a team your personal page becomes part of the team page. If any donations come to your personal page, they will filter to your team page as well. Just use your team link page to push out! Individual Team Pages will continue to be open for donations till the end of the year.

3. Spread the Word

Once your personal fundraising page has been set up, you can update your page content, send emails to your friends and family, and share your campaign on social media. The emails will provide a direct link to your personal page where your friends and family can make a donation on your behalf.

4. Consider Volunteering!

T-shirt purchase has changed, so please read this!!!

This year, all t-shirts must be pre-ordered directly through our online vendor. We will NOT have t-shirts for sale at the event. We have uploaded a design and you are able to order the item (t-shirt, hoodie, hat, sticker, cell phone case, etc.) of your choice, in the color and size you like. The company (TeePublic) will prepare your item and ship it directly to you. A portion of the proceeds goes to DSO and you have more choices as to what you get!

Please order by September 16th to avoid expedited shipping costs if you would like your item to arrive in time for Buddy Fest.

You will also be able to order the design on items the rest of the year and support the DSO with your purchase. Next year we hope to have a contest to design our 2023 Buddy Fest Design – stay tuned for more information on that this Spring!
