Super Sitter Training

Parent to Parent of Whatcom County presents Super Sitter Training, June 28-30, 10am-3:30pm at The Arc of Whatcom County’s Dan Godwin Community Center  located at 2602 McLeod Rd, Bellingham.

This popular class is available for youth ages 13 and older and teaches basic baby-sitting skills along with skills caring for children, particularly for children with special needs. Attendees will enjoy the learning environment of the camp as they meet new friends. Included in the program is a full day of infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.  It is recommended that participants have some prior baby-sitting experience.

Registration forms are due June 22. Class fee is $95. Partial scholarships are available.

Families of a child with special needs ages birth to seven are invited from: 12 noon to 1:30 pm
Families of a child with special needs ages eight and up from:
1:30 pm – 3 pm
Beverages will be provided *Please bring your favorite healthy potluck dish to share.

Can you volunteer time to support the Holiday Party? We are looking for volunteers with setting up and cleaning up after the event. We are looking for help during the event with photo printing, food, and greeting new families. This years Holiday Party will feature the 2018 Smiles of Life Calendar Release and celebrate the models! Do you have a child with developmental delays or disabilities, but aren’t sure what services are oth ther to help your child? Have you heard about DDA services, but are not sure what they are or how to apply? Have you wanted to apply for DDA services but just haven’t gotten around to it yet?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is a support meeting for you! Leslie Kivett, Eligibility Case resource Manager for the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) will join us to tell us about DDA services. *Free on-side child care is provided to those who contact us by Thursday  June 8th.

Parent to Parent Summer Evening Family Barbecue

Come and enjoy a summer evening with friends. Super Sitters will be there to offer fun activities for the kids. Hot dogs, dessert, and drinks will be provided by P2P. Please bring your favorite potluck item (salad, fruit, vegetables) to share.
