Connect with families in our local Down syndrome community, visit with friends, and enjoy a lovely afternoon, rain or shine! There will be activities and crafts, a potluck lunch, the fantastic playground and a toy & book exchange.
Please bring a potluck dish to share, if possible (last names A-M bring something savory; N-Z bring something sweet…or bring a favorite dish), and a gently used toy or book to exchange with your friends. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided.
Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you there!

Down syndrome Outreach (DsO) is a volunteer committee and a program of The Arc of Whatcom County.
The Parent to Parent (P2P) Support Group meets the 2nd Monday of each month from 7-8:30 pm at The Dan Godwin Community Center, 2602 McLeod Road. Meet with other parents and professionals to get the support you need. Child care is available by RSVP’ing the Friday prior to the meeting. September Monthly Parent Support Meeting is being held on Monday, September 11 from 7-8:30pm. Our Topic is Back to School. We will be discussing all things “Back to School”. We will be having a Q&A with education advocates, answering all your questions!
Down Syndrome Parent Support Meeting will be held Tuesday, September 19 5:30-7pm with a Topic of Behaviors. We will be discussing behavior challenged that may arise for someone with Down syndrome and address these concerns using a positive behavior approach.
October Monthly Parent Support Meeting is being help on Monday, October 9 7-8:30pm with a Topic of ‘Keeping your Special Needs Child Safe’. We will share resources and services to support your family keeping your child safe. Handouts will available to take home.
Autism Support Meeting will be held Wednesday, October 18th from noon-1:30pm. We will be discussing behaviors. Do you have a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder? Are you awaiting a diagnosis, suspecting or just wondering what Autism Spectrum Disorder looks like? Our meeting will provide support, educational, and resources for families. We will cover services, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and how to apply those practices to your child. Childcare is not available at this event.
